Description Keratin 8 is often used together with keratin 18 and keratin 19 to differentiate cells of epithelial origin from hematopoietic cells.
Mallory body (Mallory-Denk body/ Mallory's hyaline) are damaged cytoplasm intermediate filaments within the liver cells. Made up of intermediate cytokeratin 8/18 filament proteins that have been ubiquitinated, they are highly eosinophilic and thus appear pink on H&E stain.
