Method/Kit:
CytC Biosensor, Image Algorithm

Supplier UPDDI
Measurement Type Fluorescence Intensity
Description In healthy cells CytC is localized to the mitochondria. On induction of Apoptosis, CytC is released from the mitochondria. The biosensor consists of a fluorescent tagged CytC, that upon release becomes more diffuse and dimmer.

Target/Analytes with this Method/Kit
Target/Analyte Short Name Description
Cytochrome C CYTC Selective permeabilization of the mitochondrial outer membrane is an integral event in apoptosis resulting in cytochrome c release from the mitochondrial intermembrane space to the cytoplasm. Cytochrome c then triggers activation of caspase proteases via the formation of a complex known as apoptosome.
